Grand Seiko’s deep connection to the natural landscapes of Japan is expressed with quiet clarity on the Snowflake dial of SBGX359. Inspired by the snow-covered Hotaka mountain range in Shinshu, the finely textured white surface reflects the way winter light plays across freshly fallen snow. Created through a meticulous silver-plating and finishing process rather than white paint, the dial reveals subtle variations in depth that shift with the light, capturing the stillness and purity of the season.

The stainless steel case measures 33.0mm in diameter and just 9.1mm in thickness, offering a compact and balanced presence on the wrist. A dual-curve sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures legibility from every angle, while Zaratsu-polished surfaces contrast with finely brushed planes, reinforcing Grand Seiko’s signature clarity of form.

Powering the watch is Caliber 9F51, a high-precision quartz movement developed to deliver exceptional performance in a slimmer profile. Rated to an accuracy of ±10 seconds per year, the movement incorporates individually selected and aged quartz crystals, thermo-compensation for stable timekeeping, and a backlash auto-adjust mechanism that ensures a smooth, precise motion of the seconds hand. Assembled by hand at the Shinshu Watch Studio, Caliber 9F51 reflects Grand Seiko’s pursuit of quartz watchmaking at its highest level.
